About Us
In 2001 the Ugandan Wildlife Authority started a pilot project.
The purpose of this project was to test the feasibility of community based sport hunting as a wildlife management tool under the wildlife use rights.
Game Trails, a family run business that is headed by Mr. Swaran Kaka Matama, was chosen to implement it, 30 years after hunting was banned in Uganda.
Ten years down the road, the project is still in place. The project continues to produce fantastic results.
Communities have benefited from schools being built from their share of the proceeeds, and most importantly now more than ever before, the communities have a reason to protect their wildlife, as it has helped boost their local economy.
